This bit looks like terrain, but is the base of a giant Cthulhu "miniature" that is actually the board you use for a Death May Die scenario. It will also be room decor for a while until I figure out how to store it.

The full pic set here.

* P.S. My browser spell check recognizes "Cthulhu" (which I spelled wrong the first time), but not "decor".

That is excellent news. I thought irony was dead.

The military drab colors for the fleshtones are perfect. I love the way the tentacles contrast. Exquisitely gross.

If you put UV lights inside those pillars, do they charge the runes from behind? Installing some cheap UV LED lights and a battery pack in the base might be a way to make the runes glow without external lighting.

Looks like ol' Tentacle Face is having a bout with stomach flu! Give it all a wide berth… Your San is counting on it!

Nice. Thanks for sharing. I always love a good model of Tentacle Face. Cheers!

The base of the mini is solid across, but by weight, the mini itself must be hollow. I'm somewhat scared about cutting through the bottom leading to a crack across the whole piece. I'm much more confident in gutting out trashbash pieces, that is, things I can easily throw out if/when I dork them up.

Bottom line … I'm chickenthulhu.

"Bottom line … I'm chickenthulhu."

Boooooo!

On a serious note, that thing looks great, but really stretches the definition of 'miniature' to the max.

That would be a terrini, or a minirain. Either way, it's a disgustingly awesome mini/terrain piece, worthy of having other minis bow down before it. Or just going insane.

An idol of the great Cthulhu!
I assume it was bought in a strangely cluttered and twisted junk store in one of the less prestigious parts of town, crammed with bizarre curiosities, junk and bric-a-brac.
The one you can't find again, no matter how hard you look for it and no one seems to remember or know anymore…

That the Great Cthulhu, whose true name is unpronounceable to both human and non-human minds, be it machine or else, is not fully part of our space-time, and that his size and power make human destinies seem as meaningless as those of mere microbes in the bottomless as well as heartless ocean, does not make the question any easier to decide.

A justly proud, but certainly condemned to a terrible fate owner of a great maxiature.

The horror, oh the horror…

I was tempted myself, but was able to resist.
At the same time I envy you deeply and fear just as deeply for your immortal soul.

I didn't resist. I didn't even know. DOM and SEMBO got it for me for Christmas …
