60 Miler was the slang term for a group of very small cargo ships that plied the coast of New South Wales from the mid-19th century to WW2. They were quite small to navigate small and undeveloped ports along the coast. The biggest service they provided was providing coal to Sydney Harbor (or Harbour). The Wicked Podiatrist has an article about them. I don't remember how I heard about them but thought they were fascinating, and decided to make one for use with 1:2400 WW2 Naval. My prototype was the S.S. Myola, which foundered in 1919. Most of the material was an inch square scrap of plastic from another project.
