Years ago after finishing my 28mm SYW armies, I got rid of all of my research materials. I dug out my 15mm Austrian and Prussian SYW armies started twenty years ago and am now trying to beef them up. I am looking for uniform information for the following regiments of foot: #55 Arberg, #35 Waldeck, #25 Thurheim, #11 Wallis, #36 Josepf Browne, #50 Harsch, and #48 Luzan. Can anyone help me? Thanks – Hal

Hello

#11 Wallis – red
#25 Thurheim – red
#35 Waldeck – red
#36 Josepf Brown – sky blue
#48 Luzan – apple green
#50 Harsch – red
#55 d'Arberg – red

Hope this is useful – on-line Project Seven Years War is a great resource

Best wishes

Kronoskaf is the magic word! Google it and under its SYW Project you will find the best and most comprehensive source of the SYW on the net, including masses of info on uniforms. Cannot recommend it enough.

Well done, Jim, that is the portal to the SYW!

Hal, what period of the war are you planning to do? Early (1756-1758), Later (1758-1763) or Generic (whichever version of the uniforms you like best)? I only ask because some of the early uniforms are quite colourful and make a nice change from the usual white waistcoats and trousers shown in the usual sources (Osprey, Blandford, etc).

A lot of the material Dal has discovered now seems to be available on the Kronoskaf site under the individual regiments' entries.

The only reason the HGM gave me access to the Delacre Bilderhandschrift was because I was doing the research for Kronoskaf, mate. It gave me the excuse to spend 5 days in Vienna. :-) Vladimir Brnardić did the hard yards on the Grenzer, but didn't have the time to do the plates (he's doing his PhD) so I did them for him. I want to go back and do the rest of the Delacre, if I can.

Well done! My turn to be green with envy! It is now 17 years since my glorious four years living in Vienna, with the HGM on my doorstep. Did you have any spare time to catalogue the vast array of flags they have there?

I just found this thread again.

Yes, mate. I have descriptions and the list of flags taken from the display plates in each cabinet. However, I was unable to view any flags not on public display. I didn't want to push the issue in case it affected my time with Delacre. :-)
