Hi all,
Long time since I've posted here – got swept up by Instagram and Facebook groups in recent years.

Something I've wanted to do for a long time now now is some simple Colonial wargaming using the DBx family of rules. To this end I've finally found inspiration to start an Anglo-Egyptian War (1882) project in 6mm using the Hoards of the Empire variant to HOTT. The relatively small number of bases required means I will have time and space for this new period and it'll allow me to concentrate on scenery and basing – which is the part I enjoy most.

Here are a few pictures of the first elements I have finished – all Irregular 6mm.

More on my blog should you want to follow this new project. link

Thanks Hal, appreciate you making the effort! The British are based and undercoated tonight – more progress shots soon!

Hi Alan,

They look great. I look forward to seeing the British.

The Egyptians had much larger numbers. But were mostly inferior in small arms weapons and training. So you may need to add a qualitative difference rule not in the otherwise very nice HOTE rules. You could give Egyptian infantry -1 in combat, but their Sudanese troops only for shooting, not for melee.
