I did some tour guiding this autumn across the battlefields of Ireland (1690-1691). This article is on the storming of Athlone by Ginckel's army pre-Aughrim. Some photos too:

Thats an interesting mannequin and uniform in the first photo. A bit creepy too. While I haven't touted Ireland, the post reminds me of my trip to Copenhagen and visit to the Danish War Museum. Incidentally, there was a nice diorama of the Battle of Køge Bay…good scenario inspiration for Mad at War. |

The mannequins are all in that modern art style. I like them but it's a marmite issue. Did you take a picture of the Koge Bay Battlescape? I'd love to see that as I have the fleets to do it! |

That mannequin reminds me of some WW2 uniform books I have where the models' faces and hands were blacked out so the publisher wouldn't have to pay them. |

Barry: I do have pictures of the dioramas, I think I snapped those for the Battle of Öland diorama (not sure about Koge Bay). I will upload the pictures to my blog and post them here. |
