Charlie here from the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) club of Texas – finishing up my Epic French heavies. I am using these miniatures for Blucher, continuing to work my project.

I plan to pick up a bunch of Prussian boxes at our annual Texas War-Gaming convention – MILLENNIUMCON – next month. My overall plan is to build the French and Prussians from the Waterloo Campaign using Blucher cards and rules.

You showed great integrity here.

After painting the riders and horse furniture, I really flag at painting the horses. Currently every unit I am working on ride bays, so black undercoat with many shades of chestnut or darker brown.

But Cuirassiers, Grenadiers a Cheval, Carabiniers I have that great excuse. They rode "Blacks", totally exclusively (except when, of course, they could not get them as replacements and were grateful to have anything with four legs). I undercoat them with black spray and highlight with a dark grey and save days of work!

Horses as bays (as you have shown) also look much better.

Finally must ask, how many tongue depressors are ever used to inspect the oral cavity? I have hundreds still, but never used them clinically. That is why I still have hundreds of course, funded by the UK tax payer.
