I have my father's two-buckle WWII boots which I wore through my early years of backpacking and they are still in decent shape! Modern boots have eclipsed them in both comfort and water resistance but certainly not in longevity…

I had a pair of those as a kid, from an Army-surplus store. But I outgrew them.

I have my dad's cold weather clothing from when he was stationed at Goose Bay almost 70 years ago. He'd stuffed it into a duffel bag & never reopened it. It mostly fits me, which could come in handy if we ever get Arctic conditions here in FL. No boots, unfortunately, they'd be too big for my feet… ;-)
