Hi, I'm looking for books about the Rev War in New Jersey, not just the big battles I'm interested in all the skirmishes and any naval action that might have been happening. |

I second mjkwargamer I also recommend this web source from the NJDEP: PDF link This reference lists actions by location, by date, provides a map of NJ showing where they were, and the original reference used to document the event. |

Dantheman: that's a great link. I grew up in South Jersey and was always intrigued by the privateers in Egg Harbor and the raid by Patrick Ferguson which resulted in the battle of Chestnut Neck. It's interesting how much skirmishing took place in the rural areas of South Jersey. |

Prinice Albert: NJ was a hotbed for privateering because of NY harbor and Philly. A lot of. Skirmishes occurred as Britain attempted to root out the privateering centers. It is beyond the question above, but if you are interested in the privateering wars off the NJ coast the book "Privateers of the Revolution" by Shumette covers it. It also covers the coastal raids and. The prison ships. |
