as a bonus, all the units can be used for Bolt Action too Airfix Battles, an introductory wargame! its fantastic!! I put a board together with four boxes to get lots of mapboards, added some terrain around the edges, but left the centre flat for the counters to move in the squares,I have a train set going round thr edge for when I am not playing it, I am going to have a travel by rail rule. the rules are easy and REALY good. The game is cheap, you get two flipmaps and about 150 chits with vehicles and infantry, you get some nice force cards and an action deck, it even has a solo mode. |

Seems somehow sacrilegious that Airfix sells a product with no actual minis in it. |

I was hoping for something more encompassing. That said, I have plenty of 1/72 Germans and Americans for the theater and a 13 year old who likes WWII gaming… I'm glad that you found something that works for you. |

well its my poor eyesight, makes painting minis very hard, so this game is a dream for me I love it! I like the cards because playing solo I need some simple goals, and the force decks I can add my own cards to them. You can mod the movement so you can measure instead of squares. the infantry counters have some differences like bazookas so you can use them in bolt action, the vehicles and tanks and halftracks are great for tank games, with the number attached to the card you can customise with diff guns etc… I think its brill. I dont think one box is enough, and its cheap so I used four to cover my table which also game me lots of units. 79thPA, you can easily add your own cards, once you have the system, thats what im going to do is make it very wide in scope. you also have ATGs and trucks to tow them. with a few boxes you can have an army on a large table in seconds my table is 10foot.I admit i would like an Afrika korps set too. there is also an expansion deck. and all the vehicles have flip sides with more vehicles, you get 18 in a box that can have diff force cards, so making a simple force card can make your units more options I have a hornby train because its a ww2 steam set, I could not have my diesels on it .. |

Couldn't you play board games. Don't have to paint and it is 2D like Airfix. There are so many WWII games available. |
