First trial of the rules. They don't have as much flavor as TSATF but they are more streamlined. link

Nice looking game in my favorite scale! I also do 1/72 Sudan using TMWWBK. I am an old TSATF guy. Played the heck out of it for many years. But it can really slow down once a lot of close combats start to happen. Personally, I much prefer The Men who would be Kings. We have run pretty large scale games with them. I like doing the early war period with Egyptians armies and Bashi's defending or advancing against the Mahdi. Maybe a British unit here or there. I picked up some Newline Dervish Cav to use with my Hat Numidian horsemen for Cavalry and Hat Camel Mahdists.

Thanks

John

The melee definitely slows down in TSATF but I love the rules. We played another game of TMWWBK which I haven't posted yet. We were able to play a game with 12 dervish units and 8 Brit units in about 2.5 hours. The streamlined melee makes all the difference. It will be interesting to see how Newline fits with HaT and Italeri.

You have to disguise the basing a bit, I did the same thing using my Ral Partha Egyptians. They fit well with the Waterloo 1815 Egyptians and Dervish. But they are bigger than my Esci and Hat Arabs. I use thin metal bases for the larger figs and 3mm wood bases for the others. Makes them about the same height.

Thanks

John
