Vladimir Putin has fired the general charged with managing the Russian military's faltering logistics operations in Ukraine.

Gen Dmitry Bulgakov, a deputy defence minister, was removed from his role on Saturday, the defence ministry said on Telegram…

Also claims Putin has issued 'no retreat' order for Kherson.

No doubt the irony of claiming to be attacking Nazi's and then issuing 'no retreat' orders is completely lost on Putin?

"Gen Mizintsev, who was dubbed "the Butcher of Mariupol" by many Ukrainians, also led Russian forces in Syria and was accused of orchestrating a brutal bombing campaign that leveled the city of Aleppo." – so this guy is qualified to run logistics?

Keir Giles, a Russia expert at the British think tank Chatham House, said that Mizintsev is a senior figure but that he has spent much of the past decades in jobs that were "effectively administrative — not just staff posts, but running headquarters, command posts, coordination centers."

Washington Post, 1 April, 2022.

Logistics is a lot different to admin or ordering war crimes.

He should stay away from hospital windows.

Too little too … too late … He may have an accident.

The Russians all that bad, he will be offered the 5th or 6th floor of his choice.

He may bounce a bit more … but …

Given the primary qualification would seem to be the ability to conjure a lot of trucks and tankers out of thin air I would have thought Patriarch Kirill would have been better qualified?

Don't know if many or if any in the Russian military are qualified to do their jobs.

A lot of professional militaries rotate their officers through different jobs and don't keep them in just one field.

Apparently the Russians do too. :-)

Yes, I know the US Army does and it's a good concept. I ended up running Log in the ROK and when I got back to Benning.

My experience you have to be pretty good at what you do no matter if you are a Tactician and/or a Logistician. Many US Army officers do both, I did.

Apparently the Russians do too.
Seems they are not good at anything they do !
