OK sitting here for hours without comment.

Well not my scale.

I only do Free French tanks of 2eme DB and them in 1/72 (but 1/35 if I ever get back to that attic).

But these are amazing. Personally, I love the exaggerated rivets and the three colour cammo scheme…in 1/144…I could not achieve that feathered edge. Tracks in steel I am not so sure about. Edges where the teeth meet the drive sprockets maybe, but otherwise dark earth or some such.

But great work. I must get back from Waterloo in 1/72 but hundreds still to do

Neat!

I didn't know Dragon made Marders.

Thanks! Deadhead, I paint the tracks with Vallejo Panzer Aces track primer which is a dull greyish brown color. I highlight them with Vallejo gunmetal grey and then hit the recesses with Tamiya black panel liner so they really aren't that metallic looking in r/l. I think the flash on my camera exaggerates the metal look.

That makes sense. I have to use massive lighting to get depth of focus when I want to show a group of Napoleonic figures. The snag then is that the most matt finish looks so shiny.

I think the idea of black into the recesses is inspired. I never thought of using a black wash on tracks. I do have so many AFVs languishing in the attic. Must get back to them

Ed, super paints again!

I don't paint my tracks anymore, well that is, I just use the spray grey primer as my color for them (and paint the camo color of the road wheels and rollers within), then black wash the tracks, and then hit the details with a white drybrush.

(anything that gets the AFVs done quickly enough, with near-equivalent results, and ready for the tabletop asap)

Thanks Dave! I take my time with painting, no tabletop to get them to. :D
