You were asked – TMP link If in August of 1914 Britain had not joined the side of the French and remained neutral, how many months would France have survived before capitulating? Average result: 11.99 months |

France lasted almost that long on its own in 1870-71 without Russia as an ally. Britain played a role, but it's share of the ground effort was comparatively small until mid-1916, and didn't peak (in human and material terms) until 1917. |

and 23 years against almost the rest of Europe, oh yes of course, great poll, the 5 divisions of the tiny british army would allow France to "survive before capitulating" one year later… hum where Western Front or Gallipoli again the fable of the english toad who wishes to be as big as the French Russian and other continental ox we used to suffer in the napoleonic boards average result is rather 84% ridiculous, unhistorical, ignorant, anti-french, anti-russian but 500 % anglocentric well it is true that the Russians and French had only 150 and 95 then 125 Divisions, a straw in the front against Germany sorry but the main partner and ally for France and the Poilus was RUSSIA, RUSSIA and RUSSIA even if it seems very hard to heard and recognize that for many people who whish to rewrite the History here given the war in Ukraine, Putin would like to rewrite the Past but there are TMP members following the same way when you discover a such poll |
