Myself, I think they're still looking for salt water. An off-shore outlaw radio station, perhaps? The Concrete Ship at Cape May? Possibly some island only visible at low tide.

They're probably going to announce the Cold Wars location at Fall In 2022. I know they are looking to move it further south (Virginia? Maryland?).

Thank you, Exeter. After Timonium, Baltimore, Ocean City and--what WAS that place in New Jersey?--your suggestion seems the obvious choice.

Mini, you may be right. By my count that's about eight months late. Of course, they've already walked away from the Fredericksburg Convention Center, so they'll need to find something harder to reach with more distant motels.

And I'm getting even more cynical than usual. They're trying, and I'm certainly not volunteering for the BoD. Time to go mow the lawn.

With all the ups and downs of Covid and attendance last year and cancelling Cold Wars last year, it may have been more difficult this time around to reach an agreement with a facility—guarantees and penalties for cancelling again, etc. We will probably hear more on this issue after they announce where they end up.

Indeed… and take the seaplane. Much faster and sometimes you get to be right seat.

Yeah, I know that one, Yogi. They hand me a refrigerator magnet as token of fait accompli. (I left mine in Lancaster. I take only happy memories home from conventions.) I was hoping that, considering how it worked out last time, they might try for a little more discussion, AKA input. But we'll see.

Rusty, if they keep shortening the notice and upping the fantasy/SF content, some day my three-bay garage will be sufficient. You'll have to make your own deal about using the neighbors' pool, though.

It's bigger than the house, Cardinal. In fact, even throwing in the garage I'm under the average square footage for an American home these days. But room for a 6x12 table was a major factor in buying it.

And no, they never came. I don't think I've ever had more than three miniatures gamers here at one time. But it's been great for storage--especially of the stuff I should have known better than to buy.

Sounds to me like a store front Cardinal….no flea market for this guy. He's now designated as a dealer…..

I noticed on the HMGS website that they mentioned they are working on finalizing an agreement with a convention facility and hope to have the final draft for the October 16th meeting. Any idea on the where and when? Fingers crossed it happens.

Probably not where you think.

While we had hoped to have this contract wrapped up in August, we (once again) ran up against the post-COVID staffing issues that all these facilities seem to have. For example, after approving the initial proposal, it took the facility almost six weeks to get us an initial draft contract.

More details will be forthcoming after Fall In! 2022.
