Recently purchased saga age of Hannibal and need some elephants, some Greeks and numidians. Have always got my ancients from Essex but they seem to have raised their prices and I fear postage to the US will be a killer. Khurasian doesn't have them. Blue moon is probably too big and limited. Old glory 15s and battle honors have some but hard to tell what they look like and I don't need many.
Suggestions?
Thanks

Joe

Try Lancashire Games, the prices are lower and while some figures are not very good, most of the figures are very good. My only issue is they do not have a good range of early Persian figures, but Punic war is well covered.

Xyston, Forged In Battle, Khurasan, Museum, to name a few,

Don't forget to check out Plastic Soldier Company. They are producing the wonderful Corvus Belli range of Carthaginians and their allies and some of the Xyston hoplites in plastic. Very nice figures and very reasonably priced even taking overseas postage into account.

The above mentioned ranges are all decent enough. I would add the Gladiator Miniatures range from Fighting 15s. The Greeks are very nice but single pose within each pack. The Carthaginians – including Numidians – are a newer range in a slightly different style – there is a bit more variety in these packs.

Baueda do nice Numidians but not Greeks. Quite small figures compared to, say, Xyston.

Depends what you mean by only needing a few.
If transatlantic postage is likely to be an issue, then some companies have a US dealer. You can get Essex from US dealers if that helps.
Of the US companies, OG15s figures are good in the ranges you mention. If the bag size puts you off, it is worth looking at the Field of Glory battle group packs which are slightly smaller for skirmishers.

The Battle Honors figures are good but the Greeks in particular are quite large and there isn't much variety in each pack. The elephants are multi-part including separate tusks and tails, so a bit of a pain.

Most companies' elephants are either Indian or a bit of an African/Indian hybrid. The most accurate African elephants IMHO are Xyston's though for the ones I have the mahout is very large.

Elephants in a game of Saga?

Yep, it is Age of Hannibal

Forged in Battle size well with Essex and look great. Shields on the hoplites are slightly small. Sell in packs of 24 figs with good variety.

Xyston tower over Essex. Probably not an issue with the elephants though.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I knew this group would have answers. As far as number of figures that will range from 2 elephants to 12 Greek skirmishers to 24 hoplites.
Who carries Essex in the states?
Looks like I have some other brand s to look at as well. Thank you for your help.
Yes elephants in a skirmish game but it is saga. It is a game first with some historical overlay. If you can get past that it is quite fun!
Thanks again.

this page link shows Noble Knights list of Essex they carry.

If Essex is what you like the shipping charges look pretty reasonable for anything under 500g. That is a lot of 15s.

Dragoon, amazing. I can never find anything on noble knight. I searched Essex miniatures. Thanks. It looks like they are out of a lot of stuff.
Marcus, thanks. You are correct.
I have used Essex for the completeness of the range. Their figures are fine but I have always thought khurasian better and PP just as good and sometimes superior.
Think I might give old glory a whirl this time. Too many figures on a few occasions but the price is right and I am sure I can do something with them.
Thank you all for your help!

I have used Corvus Belli and Forged in Battle for my Punic Wars collection. Both fit very well together
