I'm no sold on comparing the number of aircraft available today to 1945 – the aircraft are far more capable and far more survivable.
But I am sold on the idea we either need to see the UAVs that are going to replace the B-52 and F-35 in service, right now, fully operational, or admit they won't be here for awhile and build the F-35s and replace the B-52, and not with a gimmicky, "high tech", one-trick, expensive magic aircraft, but with a big, dumb, big bomber that is unglamorous but can do anything.
