Only one for Caucasian flesh plus a wash. For non-white, it could be several ranging from tan to burnt umber, plus washes. |

Who am I to argue with Shep Paine, burnt umber, yellow ochre, red, and white. |

Trying to think of how to get to 6. 1. Caucasian flesh 2. Tanned Flesh 3. African flesh 4. Asian Flesh. 5. Native American flesh (though this easily could go under "tanned flesh" as could Asian). I get to 5 at the most. Unless you want a very fair fleshtone as well, in the mix. This is from the perspective of a wargamer, & not a pure figure painter. Damon. |

Out of curiosity, I googled Shep Paines, paint tips. Remember, he painted larger scale figures, 54mm and taller. He usd five different shades just on a Caucasian face! |

I use the reaper triads. I think I have 12 for just europeans. |

The modal number is 3. A handful of extreme results dragged the average up a long way. |
