Greetings all. I have been away from 40k for years and am finally jumping back in for 30k/Horus Heresy. But I am a bit confused by the "Gravis" weapon types. Would someone mind taking a minute and explaining to me how Gravis weapons in 30k differ from other weapons?

Thank you in advance.

It's not Bad Latin per se. All languages change over time, even a revived dead language like Latin, which has been seeing a little resurgence in Europe over the past few decades. 38,000 years from now, no words will be directly recognizable to us.

To answer the original question, I believe they are equivalent to graviton guns from the Rogue Trader days.

Thanks everyone. But someone please look at the weapon options for the contemptor dreadnought in the new astartes army books for horus heresy. Several Gravis options.

Wonder if it is a name for those weapons that are twin linked?
