video of a Ukrainian 100 mm MT-12 AT gun mounted on a MT-LB armoured vehicle.

Also (mis-)identified as a D-44 85mm field gun.

And seems to be firing line-of-sight.

It is an anti tank gun,

There seems to be plenty of space atop MT-LB for mounting all sorts of armaments. I recently saw video footage (presumably from Ukraine) showing twin-barreled 23 mm AA-guns mounted on top of those vehicles, with the gun crews bravely sitting on their seats while the vehicle sped along cross-country.

Such open mountings tend to leave the crew rather exposed, though.

I'd call it direct fire rather than line-of-sight as no-one is looking through the sights, but pulling a lanyard.

As we see many improvisations out of necessity. Reminds me of what the Germans did in WWII.

I'd call it direct fire rather than line-of-sight as no-one is looking through the sights, but pulling a lanyard.
I'd think they are aiming at something. Or laying down suppressive fires on something.

"A further video of this neat combination, which was apparently put together from captured hardware- both are documented as being captured, although there is only visual evidence for 1 MT-12 recovered by Ukrainian forces."

It also shows the deployment of hydraulic trails.

Video of an interesting improvised vehicle in the service of 🇺🇦 army. It appears to be an observation post. It's called "SHIELD Bus T5"

I'd assume these kind of ersatz weapons are typically being used against Russian fixed positions – probably a far more efficient use of resource than firing ATGW etc and less risky than getting close enough for RPGs and the like. Old AT guns may not be a huge amount of use against modern tanks but I'm sure they are perfectly capable of still ruining the day for APCs and light AFVs as well.

Yes, lighted AFVs, trucks, etc., are still viable targets. As well as enemy bunkers, fixed positions etc.
