…"God says to fight those who have driven you from your homes. For me, this is the motivation to fight Russia … We have to return to Crimea, and we will return."…

I saw some footage of this. Many moslems from former parts of Russia, etc., have no love for the "Soviet" iron boot that was or is on their necks …

Seems to me these Russkies have PO'd a whole bunch of people. E.g. Many of the former WP are now NATO members

The present conflict in Ukraine seems to unify all segments of the population in their resistance to the Russian aggression.

As for the Crimean Tatars, they have suffered quite a bit in the past: first the oppression of 1944, and then a new round with the Russian occupation in 70 years later.

As we see … many don't like the Russian boot on their throats. E.g. most of the former WP are part of NATO, etc. I think Putin only made Russia "bigger bad guy" to many currently… or even before.

Agreed. Putin has only succeeded in making Russia an even bigger bad guy. It's almost comical that Russia wonders why their neighbors don't love them…they can't understand why eastern Europe doesn't appreciate Russia as much as it thinks they should for "liberating" eastern Europe and then occupying those same nations themselves for another approximate 45 years. And now they're "liberating" Ukraine!

And they took Crimea and the "break away" area of eastern Ukraine, and in 2008 Russia invaded Georgia and occupied a portion of that country.

Oh, and they helped the Germans begin WW2 they invaded Finland, and took Finnish territory, and then invaded Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania (to take Moldova) and they even invaded Poland under an agreement with the Germans. Heck, Germany and Russia even held joint victory parades in Poland.

And, keep in mind, the Russians crushed revolts under their rule in Germany, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia.

And they still wonder why they're not trusted by their neighbors, and why their neighbors look to the west.
