I've got some Baccus figures that I'm going to base soon. I feel the 6mm scale offers good potential for depicting various formations of the TYW such as Swedish vs. Dutch vs. Imperial, etc. The thing is basing: Looking serious at Regiment of Foote from Peter Pig but if I follow the 30 by 30mm suggestion where does that leave me with other possible rules systems. I presume 40mm by 20mm might also be popular. I could do a pair of 20 by 20 mm bases but some of the stands might look too sparsely manned even with 6 mm figures. I was really hoping for that 6mm en masse look. |

Maybe a different rule system that doesn't use figure removal. Possibly adapt For King and Parliament or a Black Powder derivative |

Twilight of Divine Right usually uses 60mm x 30mm bases. The rules cover tercios, Swedish brigades, Dutch formations etc. Might be worth a look. |

Thanks, I like the Twilight series, but have played the later periods it covers. Didn't know figure removal was used in RoF. |

Take a look at Liber Militum: Tercios. |

+1 for Liber Militum: Tercios – the 'Brevis' (rules-lite) version is (was?) freely availble as a pdf. If you can't find it I can send you a copy. To be honest I've found the additional rules in the full rule-set don't add much and we tend to stick to the Brevis rules. |
