I've never run across a zebra striped Prussian cannon before. Never seen a candy cane red-white-blue striped French cannon either. The French infantry are Old Guard grenadiers with flimsy bearskins, minus mustaches. In the final assault, what are these guys, Fusilier-Grenadiers? The dye in all their coats looks incredibly faded. The musket gatling gun is also another creative work that made me smile. Cannons being manhandled like they were bicycles and firing explosive shells. Not a caisson on either side. Two horsed-limbers where the two artillerymen per gun double as drivers.

A literate character with spectacles, where have we seen that? Anyone seen Rifleman Harris? Maybe ask that blonde Hauptman with the pretty girl.

The French carrying a white flag after a failed assault before a bunch of green coat wearing jagers who fire non-stop…. was this the inspiration for the Sharpe series launched by Bernard Cornwell?

At least the French dragoons have green coats and helmets, unlike the Sharpe series where they had faded blue-grey coats and shakos. Poorly done film but no more so than what the BBC put together.

Sharpe was on ITV, not BBC. Though both are crap.

Maybe Sharpe and his mates were just ignorant and didn't know the difference between a dragoon and a chasseur a cheval.:~)
