Hi folks, I recently came into possession of two 6mm armies – Swedish and Saxon. It looks like they are mounted for Polemos Rules (60mm x 30mm stands) and there is what I think is an earlier version of the Polemos rules included. What to folks recommend as the best/ most popular rules for gaming this period? Appreciate and thank you for any comments or input. Ian |

Most rules are size agnostic. |

We use the Twilight of the Sun King rules which are from the Pike & Shot Society. There is also a scenario book with Great Northern War scenarios in and another book on the way. pikeandshotsociety.org sell them and others. They use Polemos style basing and are often used in 6mm. See here for various games, including Saxons vs Swedes. rollaone.com |

I would recommend Twilight of the Sun King, as well. |

There are quite a few people who play To The Strongest! in 6mm (I play it in 15mm). It's played on a square grid (which I swore I would never use) but the game has won my group over. |

Twilight of the Sun King is perfect for this period. Although "base agnostic", many of us use that size base. Generally two such bases represent a brigade, but it is perfectly possible to use a single base, which has the benefit of being able to play large battles on a small table. This chap has done a lot of GNW games using Twilight: link |
