They look great. I am just getting in to this period. I placed an order for some late 17th century miniatures a couple of weeks ago from First Rank and am looking forward for them to come in. Your painting has certainly inspired me. |

Regarding the sashes of officers and some figures…. Would the color for Dutch troops be red or do you think it could be orange? |

Thanks for the nice comments. As regards sashes, Mpanko, I tend to do them the same colour as the regiment's facing colour, regardless of nationality, although I think orange would be fine as well for Dutch officers. I have done this for some of my Dutch generals, but not the regimental officers. Not all Dutchmen were pro-William of Orange! By First Rank I am guessing you mean Front Rank? These are later than my figures, which are 1670s only, but there is a lot more information on uniforms, etc, from the 1680s onwards. |
