I remember recently here on TMP a company had designed a new line of cavalry figures based on how they look in Hollywood movies. Anyone know the name of the company? Thanks. |

Knuckleduster are about to bring out F Troop guys in 28mm. And Galloping Major do the Cav you are talking about. All dismounted unfortunately. link |

The Artisan 28mm cavalry look a bit hollywood with wide hats and oversized neckerchiefs. Both mounted and dismounted in the range. |

Old Glory cavalry have a nice little "Hollywood" feel to them. I have a lot of them. Great figures. |

Legends In Time were doing them in 18mm – gauntlets, kerchiefs, right out of a John Ford movie. Not sure they ever released them though. |

I'm sorry, Gentlemen, but in order to qualify as a Hollywood Cavalry line, figures must include a Sergeant Quincannon figure. (A Sergeant Major O'Rourke figure may be substituted with written permission from James Warner Bellah and/or John Ford.) The Sergeant Gomez and Corporal Aesop figures are optional but strongly encouraged. Officer figures must include at least three of the following: LTC Custer (Flynn) LTC Gearhart (Lancaster) Maj Dundee (Heston) Cpt Brittles (Wayne) Cpt Slater (Hutton) and Lt Graham (Hutton again.) Scouts must include Samuel Potts (Coburn) California Joe Milner (Slim Pickens) or equivalent. Flint McCullough or Lord Bowler from the "TV Western" line are acceptable substitutes. But no slightly overscale Irish NCO, no Hollywood cavalry. |

Brother Piepenbrink! So right, so true, so beautiful! If you can't recognize these characters in (at least) 28mm, the collection is fatally flawed. But the fact that Ben Johnson's "Trooper Tyree" is absent from your list suggests an ill concealed prejudice against genuine Oklahoma cowboys! TVAG |

Also need the Buffalo soldiers with characters like Sgt Rutledge |

Thanks everyone. Galloping Major were the ones I was thinking about. Can't wait for Knuckleduster to do F troop! I have always wanted someone to do them. |

Good points Virtual and Disaster--and my apologies to Woodie Strode. I came home meaning to add him to the list, and you already had. I was also brooding about trumpeters. Nothing against Michael Anderson, but is Trumpeter Ryan the only one with a speaking part? |

Robert, great list, but you need to work Jack Elam in there somehow…civilian scout, cook, or ferrier. Maybe a gun runner?!? |

Bridgetmidget…was just going to suggest those! |

Bridgetmidget said: "Waterloo 1815 make a nice line of US 7th Cavalry in 1/72" link I mounted those on 1/8 inch thick balsa/basswood stands. This gives them the appearance of being about 26mm in height. Fine for tabletop wargaming and lightweight to carry. Also, these wooden discs are great for raising 1/72 scale plastic infantry miniatures to about 26mm. link |

RAFM does some 25mm Plains Wars US Cavalry that I have painted up as Hollywood. I understand the only difference between Hollywood and "real" is the Hollywood have beige hats and "real" have black hats. |
