The War for Sneedville kicks off in earnest this week and the votes are rolling in.

We are doing a black powder era campaign using two imaginations centered on the real world terrain between Knoxville and Kingsport, TN. Taking William Sylvester's "Solo Wargaming Guide" as a starting point, and adding in ideas from Henry Hyde's new book, we have got two powers fighting for control of the titular town of Sneedville.

Or following along on the channel. I'm detailing the set-up and plans in both places.

Ultimately, the goal is to generate tabletop battles organically and turn them over to crowdsource the results, which will be spun back into the strategic campaign. Players can use whatever rulesets they like best – we have people planning on using everything from pike and shot up to ACW – and report back to the GM. Then we take a look at the new situation and hash out new strategies from there.

There is mo direct link, but if you want to play along, look for the first poll under the Community Tab. We are deciding on the first major offensive now.
