Coach Blake Radetsky from the San Antonio chapter of the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) club of Texas has finished up his summer school for 2022. Blake has been conducting summer school in San Antonio for the past 20+ years. He has a true passion for instilling the gaming hobby into the NEXTGEN of potential war-gamers.

Here are the classes offered by Coach this year:

Many of Blake's graduates are now members of the LSHM club. In fact, I met two young men this past Friday at the local club store – both their moms were excited to introduce their sons to something other than an electronic device. They proudly showed me their 28mm Bolt Action figures they built and painted, then played at Blake's summer school.

Here is one of the classes:

Blake introduces the youngsters to a wide variety of games, they get a basic army, learn the techniques of how to build the figures (if multi part plastics), then learn to paint and eventually play a game (Final Exam).

The "Final Exam":

Indeed! Looks like someone in the front row just farted too. A definite characteristic of most games that I have witnessed.

Great stuff Blake – what kind of help do you need?

Thanks, DisasterWargamer – Blake is always looking for spare/extra/unused/unwanted/new/etc….miniatures for kids to build their armies.

Many thanks to the great companies out there that provide donated figures/rules/terrain each year.
