How did I resist these for so long? Whatever you might think about Warlord they have really hit the mark with these in my humble opinion. If I was a spotty 15 year old again ( almost 65 now!), I would jump at these just like I did when I first discovered Airfix Napoleonics. I hope they bring more young blood into the hobby especially as at around 6p per infantry figure and 30p cavalry they are incredibly affordable and of course you don't have to play Black Powder to use them, I play DBN rules. Couple of photos here, loads more on the blog along with a short video recording my thoughts on them. Lee.

Those are some nice paint jobs. |

Very nicely done. I noticed that the depth of your cavalry bases is bigger than those supplied by Warlord, they look better. |

mad monkey 1 :) Thank you. I'm actually going for a simple paint job using strong colours for these Epics. Redcurrant – Thank you. Yes. I'm using slightly deeper bases for both infantry and cavalry, MDF cut. 25mm deep for foot and 30mm deep for cavalry so the horses don't overhang. Cheers, Lee.

Nooooo! I can't go Epic scale. I have thousands of 25/28mm figures painted and game ready. I have buildings and terrain, and then you show me your Epic scale figures all beautifully painted and based! Noooo!…..Well maybe I'll get a few boxes, you know, just so I can see for myself.Just know that if I like them and start collecting and painting them…you Sir will have to answer to my wife! |

Lovely work Lee, they look great. I couldn't agree more with you. This isn't my thing but fair play to Warlord if this encourages more people into historical gaming. The price point can't really be beaten. I hope they do similar for some other periods rather than just 19th C. |

cavcrazy: I resisted the Epic Napoleonics right up until 5 weeks ago, decided to order a single infantry sprue to see what all the fuss was about and BANG, that was it. With apologies to your wife :) dr beard: Thank you very much, I find them a joy to paint.I too wonder what the future of this technology holds. 79thPA: Many thanks. One more close up of these lovely little figures, infantry figures coming in at around 6p per figure!

Lee, you could almost say they're 'neon' strong, but by golly that's working. Love your inspiration too, carries all the way across the pond too! |

FlyXwire Your comments are very much appreciated :) 'Neon' made me laugh, but indeed that describes my style well. And of course the Vallejo Satin Varnish that I always use helps that look. Cheers, Lee. |
