Rob Gravener and I dusted off our 28mm American Civil War and played a game at Dragon's Lair – San Antonio, Texas on Friday night.
We hadn't played in over 3+ years, so this game was really about dusting off the troops, opening the rule book (Regimental Fire & Fury) and re-learning the mechanics of the game.
We both took two brigades (4 regiments each) and a battery just to get the cobwebs out and get back the game sequence of play. We finished 4 turns and after many book readings and searching were able to get back the flavor of the game.
We plan to play a lot more in the future – although Fire & Fury has a number of flaws it plays relatively well and not very complicated. link |
