Actually the "Sergeant York" was designated the M-247. link And it was never produced for active service due to technical problems and cost overruns. Jim |

A shame that the vehicle was named for York, who was a remarkably good shot. The irony doesn't get any thicker. |

When you take a targeting system from an aircraft and put it into a ground anti aircraft system without extensive testing you have problems. |

As I recall the M-247 was an expensive ineffective US vehicle modeled after the Soviet ZSU-23-4, an inexpensive ineffective Soviet vehicle |
