I actually finished these Peninsular French some time ago but, here they are:

Three pics, more at the blog link, and I confess a heresy – one of these uniforms (not on the officer stand) is very bogus! Can you guess why?

I don't care!
They all look very good.

Well done, sir.

I'll guess that the hussar trumpeter should have a green coat like the other ranks; as the unit is not on parade? Ah…
nope. 🙂
Read the blog….at least the colour I chose is involved in the error.

Thank you, for your kind words.

The horseshoe nails do not appear to have the correct head on them.

These are exquisitely painted figures!

rmaker05 Jul 2022 10:12 a.m. PST

Well, the "hussars" are chasseurs, and, as light cavalry, they shouldn't be carrying the Color in the field.

olicana05 Jul 2022 10:35 a.m. PST

Did someone say the Chasseurs were hussars? I didn't.

Glengarry505 Jul 2022 10:36 a.m. PST

Shouldn't the plumes of the centre companies be red?

cavcrazy05 Jul 2022 10:53 a.m. PST

The larger are wearing the Legere are wearing the wrong headgear. Beautifully done figures as always.

cavcrazy05 Jul 2022 12:37 p.m. PST

Man I hate autocorrect 😠

those "bogus" miniatures are very well painted and the units look impressive, the only real bogus I can see – is a cavalry standart for Chassuers, which they did not carry any longer in the field from about 1808 onwards, same for the light infantry, usually no eagle. I would opt for red top of the plume for the Chasseur companies.

Zippee06 Jul 2022 1:51 a.m. PST

Not knowing which regiment of Légère it is I'd guess its something to do with the variations there – white/green plume is unusual as is the white waistcoat. The bearskins for both carabinier and voltigeur? Very unusual!

Although the Légère eagle is against regs (and if that's a 2 btn regt then the second eagle is totally inappropriate), and the chasseurs having colours is dubious at best, I'd say that sort of thing falls within the range of wargamer preference rather than out and out blooper.

No, ut, Ogdenlulimus, mis-identified them as such.

Did we ever get an answer to the bogus rig? Is it just the Light Regt infantry wearing a colpack?

Great work whatever. The chasseurs are terrific
