I love them, they are brilliant and different…big time different. But for the ignorami, such as me who think that the Napoleonic Wars began and ended in 1815, tell me more. Something tells me they were on Boney's side, as I do recall seeing fortresses over Dubrovnik, from pre 1815. I just hope they were not part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but I have that doubt |

Thanks for your messages, guys ! Deadhead, this regiment was raised in February 1813 in the Illyrian provinces for the French army and saw action against Turkish raiders. When Austria regained control of the area later that year, they mutinied and joined the Austrian army. They had a short-lived existence, but I had to immortalize their fancy uniform. |
