question guys
trying to figure out difference between early and late version of 2s3 (m1973)152mm self propelled howitzer
any site i have looked at says easiest way is from the back of the hull ,
one version had 2 rectangular hatches, the other had a single oval hatch
but none tells me which is which
so is the oval hatch the early or late version

According to Jane's Armour and Artillery 2011-2012, the late production versions (2S3M and 2S3M1) have the two stowage compartment covers instead of a larger oval cover in the center.
