Hello, everyone.

I have had this demon miniature since the 80's. The base seems to say 1983. I can't ID the manufacturer or the miniature's name. For some reason, I think it was supposed to be Orcus, although it doesn't look much like Orcus to me.

Does anyone know?

It looks like the bad guy Calibos from the 1981 Clash of the Titans movie. It also looks very Bob Olley like.

I agree! I think that's why I bought him.

So I guess the question is did someone in the early 80s release a Clash of the Titans range or the did the sculptor just do as a one off using the film as a bit of inspiration?

The base is unusual to being hollow underneath an not solid like most were.

I have another miniature of Ra that I bought at the same time. Same kind of base.

Could it be from a range of gods? It's frustrating because there's no identifying marks for the manufacturer.

I know a guy who knows Bob Olley pretty well. Maybe Bob will take a look.

I used to work for Perth Pewter / Medieval Productions. This really looks like a Stephen Tofano piece but the marking on the bottom doesn't match.

Superior is the brand.

Looks like my ex mother-in-law.

I have most of those Superior characters, and they are really excellent. True 25mm, unfortunately.

I went scrolling through the Superior page and found several miniatures I've been trying to place for several years. I thought they were lizard folk of some sort and here they are listed as Orcs(!!). Thank you so much for the link.

It is possible that the sculptor and I had the same third-grade teacher, and he made that miniature as part of his PTSD therapy.

It is a surprising good likeness, at least in spirit and temperament.

Scrolling through those miniatures brings back memories. I think I helped cast, trim, and acid etch every single one of them while working at Medieval Productions/Perth.
