After about a years work I feel that this project is just about done. Two balanced forces for 1812. 10mm at this scale gives the 'average' wargamer a good chance to have a couple of decent armies on a 6' x 4' table with a bit of manoeuvring room to spare. I still love 28mm but only for skirmish type games. Here are some pictures of the figures:
Lots more pictures and a more detailed description of the collection here: linkMany thanks, Dave. |

Magnificent. Quality and quantity, which is hard to achieve. Two questions: What figs are the Russian corps cavalry Uhland, and where did you source the Opolchenie flags? They are excellent. |

The Russian corps cavalry are actually Pendraken French lancers painted up as Russians, one of the advantages of using the smaller scale figures. One of the Opolchenie flags is from the Historie and Collections book, Borodino The Moskova. A great book with lots of colour plates for us idiots! The rest I made up figuring the religious icons would feature prominently on their standards. Dave. |

Thanks for that sheepman1961. Can I ask a dumb question – how did you get the image from the book? Or is your painting that good? |

Very impressive work.i agree with your comments about the benefits of 10mm figures, especially for Napoleonics. I am gradually building up forces for the Peninsular War and hope I will have made as much progress in 18 months this as you have managed. |

Lets party with Cossacks – in all modesty I hand paint all of the flags, couldn't be chowed with photo copying and cutting them all out! Dave. |
