$38 USD for a set of dice! $35 USD for a decal sheet! WOW!!! What was it that P.T.Barnum said, There's a sucker born every minute! Looks good, but sheeesh! |
Mr Elmo | 05 Jun 2022 6:34 a.m. PST |
I preordered mine! A funny thing about being suckers is Facebook memories "reminded" me that 5 years ago I was debating 8th edition vs The Walking Dead. I didn't get into 8th but am into 9th. The other game? Out of production. |

@John a separate box of 20 Beakies should be available in the next 3-4 weeks. |
Herkybird | 05 Jun 2022 12:19 p.m. PST |
Thanks Kenshin San! I may invest in one or two of those boxes for old times sake! |
joedog | 05 Jun 2022 10:15 p.m. PST |
Let's see… 3 infantry boxes – 20 SMs + 20 SMs + 10 Termies (six $50 USD+USD boxes with current model counts, so that covers the $299 USD) 2 character models 1 dreadnought 1 tank Pretty much twice the amount of stuff as in the current $185 USD 40k starter box, so – in GW terms – a good value. You can get minis from other companies for less, but for GW, it's a decent deal. Just the parts I want – the 40 beakies and the tank – would run over $300 USD at current prices, so I preordered.

Starter sets always good value. Is this nostalgia hitting ? The return of the Space Wombles is kind of exciting. I can revitalise my 2nd edition armies….. |
Mr Elmo | 06 Jun 2022 7:45 p.m. PST |
Starter sets always good value. The set is a "value" only because GW sets the price of the individual components. The 40K recruit edition has 10 Necron Warriors for $50 USD and the box of 10 is $50 USD so you get Space Marines for free, or Vice versa Imperium Magazine 9&10 are also 10 Necrons for $28 USD The models themselves are probably 10 cents each in production cost. Value lies where people believe it resides. |

Based on GW listing the 20 model Mk III and Mk IV SM boxes at $80 USD (replacing the old box which was $55 USD for a box of 10), I'm guessing that the Box of 20 Mk VI SMs will also run $80 USD. The sprues also appear to have been reconfigured. This means that the per model price is dropping from $5.50 USD to $4.00 USD – a surprising move from GW. |

The set is a "value" only because GW sets the price of the individual components. Yeah…but. I picked up some issues of Imperium with models that I quite liked, which were also about 30% off the GW store price. And I wondered if £8.99 GBP was a bit pricey, then looked again at the sprue and thought "I've bought 1/72nd WWI planes with smaller sprues for the same or more money". Compared to plastic kits the bigger items aren't outrageously priced (IMOSHO) Value lies where people believe it resides. Very True. It's the only way to evaluate the value of any hobby item. Do I want it enough to pay X for it? If yes, then it's worth it. |

They had been denying people beakies for so long, just pulling them off the sprue and dropping them in a big tub, that they decided to save money this time around and just use them all up. Green is waaagh or whatever. First thought was it actually looks like a nice set like they did in the 90s. Second thought was that landraider is well out of place. Thanks for the other pics re that, but it still looks too modern. Bty, did we figure out the scale here, traditional or super marine? |

Here is the new Support Weapon box: youtu.be/7hfxkzyQ5S4 @H-Man, haven't heard anything solid on height yet. |
ciaphas | 07 Jun 2022 11:21 p.m. PST |
How the the HH plastic marines size=wise compared to 40k marines, similarly the tanks etc? Is the game itself any good? cheers jon |
joedog | 08 Jun 2022 7:58 a.m. PST |
All of the available information suggests that these SHOULD size up properly with the existing MK III and MK IV SMs from the previous Horus Heresy games and SM squad boxes, as well as the existing FW HH minis. This makes HH look like a good option for those who do not like the shift to Primaris, and prefer actual Space Marines. |

The slight height difference in the video seems to be due to the position of the legs – straighter, with less "crouch". |

I think they'll bland just fine with prior 30k Resin & articles. One of the nice things about GW taking over 30k from Forgeworld is that sooner rather than later they will show up on Amazon.
That means a 5-10% AND 1 day shipping time if you have Prime. |
