I can never get pictures to post on TMP so here is a link to my blog with examples of my home made 2mm ACW infantry. These use a printed skin I created in MS paint glued to a core made from a couple of matchsticks cut to 25mm length. These are based on 60 x 30mm bases to act as brigades for Altar of Freedom.

Excellent! Just got my 2mm Franco Prussian armies from Irregular or I would have tried this, very clever use of ms paint.

If I did it again I'd probably have some MDF cut to the size and shape of the match stick cores. It would be more expensive but faster. If you do try this with match sticks one of the craft matchstick cutters is a must.
