Anyone have any experience with contrast paints and smaller scales? If so, what have you found effective or difficult? Thanks |

So haven't painted any 10mm but have had mixed experiences with contrast paint The concept works best on medium large areas with a lot of texture. Depending on the nature of your 10mm figures, you may not get a lot of benefit from contrast paints I have been painting some 15mm Samurai, where the contrast paint nicely brings out the detail in the armour and trousers Also, some contrast paints work better than others John |

I've used them for the basic uniform colours in 10mm, for 7 Years War, red for Russians, blue for Prussians etc. They work quite well as a base coat but I do then add a Army Painter Strong Tone wash |

Sir Garnett those look very nice, especially at that scale. Thanks |

Ditto on the Warlord Epics ACW. Worked well over white and off white primer. Tasseslar blue was perfect for the Union trousers and Ultramarine blue for the jackets. I do agree that some colors are batter than others and I would not use it for vehicles or large flat surfaces. I also use Speedpaint. |

So far only 28mm but find they work well – IF you have the right undercoat; have just used Ultramarine Blue for some Boxers, works very well |
