Interesting TO&E … but it may have changed by now ?

According to a February 18th article from the Christian Science Monitor, they were deployed in fortified trenchworks in the village of New York in Donbas. I'd guess they remained in that general area for the duration.

Man-portable equipment has probably been improved.
Before Feb-2022 Ukraine was still short of equipment so the 46th would have probably been lucky to maintain full strength equipment. There seemed to be other units not so well equipped.

The ZU-23-2 only went into localised production in 2021. 60 years after it was designed.

The Territorial Defense Brigades seem to have only 1 fire support company per brigade.

See also ukraine groundforces equipment which has totals for 2022.

Off topic, but does anybody know why a town in Ukraine is named New York?

Bandolier21 May 2022 5:14 a.m. PST

Because it's a wonderful town?

Pzivh43: according to wiki, one of the town's founders (mid-19th century) had an American wife and that's how it got its name.
