The ISBN on Amazon is 978-1739695019.
The hardcover version is $49 USD but the Kindle price is $7.40 USD.

The 1st through 4th Bashkir "commands" (each of 5 "hundreds") joined the main Russian forces facing the French on 24 May 1807, the only Native cavalry to participate in the 1805-1807 conflict with the French.

so were they present?

Bought it, started reading, nice effort on a topic of great personal interest.

One quick factual note, in the discussion of the French army the description of the regiment/battalion structure is wrong. The 6 company structure (4 fusilier, 1 genadier, 1 voltigier) did not show up until later (1808)…in 1805 a battalion was made up of 9 companies – 8 fusilier, 1 grenadier, the order to create voltigier companies (so 7, 1, 1) was partially implemented as the Grande Armee was on the move and by Austerlitz not all regiments had official voltigier companies (which Corps/regiments did it by Austerlitz is a research project of mine, there are others on TMP who are far more knowledgeable than I who are also working this topic). A bit of glitch by the author.

I've just ordered it, but the error ChaosMan points out is a bit of a fiasco!

von Winterfeldt23 May 2022 5:02 a.m. PST

wow that is a downer to get such a basic topic as a battalion structure wrong, I won't buy it.
