Painted up figures is what we need to see, just how good the modelling is.

It is not unreasonable, I think, that the Editor wants to suppress simply advertising new releases in any range. Well not on this forum anyway.

But, provided added content, such as painted up, that is different.

Personally, I am now tied up in 1/72 (a scale I would not have chosen) for Waterloo Uncovered

Plus the 2eme DB Free French in both 1/72 and 1/35 in the attic, if I ever get the time.

But, here is a promise, I always moaned about the incredible…..truly incredible….lack of ARVN.

Now we have them from Gringos and Empress………one day, I will PG

thanks for posting Liam..figure is that of a One Zero bascially the commander on the ground of the SOG Squad..normally between five to eight men..not to garner too much attention,armed to the teeth with a CAR 15 and a cut down blooper attached with cord to his backpack/Bergin

Plus a new series released today I gather

One of a new release from Gringos40 from today 20.9.2022 (US the other way around of course 9.20.22!) a One One firing a Gyrojest Rocket pistol ..hard to believe it fired miniature rockets ,the pistol itself only weighing a pound.. space age Nam! The Gyrojet is a family of unique firearms developed in the 1960s named for the method of gyroscopically stabilizing its projectiles. Rather than inert bullets, Gyrojets fire small rockets called Microjets which have little recoil and do not require a heavy barrel or chamber to resist the pressure of the combustion gases. Velocity on leaving the tube was very low, but increased to around 1,250 feet per second (380 m/s) at 30 feet (9.1 m). The result is a very lightweight and transportable weapon.
I thought these only existed in You Only Live Twice, in Tiger Tanaka's Ninja unit!

That paint job is beautiful! The pistol looks more like a Glock than a Gyrojet… I almost bought one in the 1970's at my local gun shop. Not a particularly good weapon and I would think rather unsuitable for military use. High cool factor though.

The more I think about it, they must have been designed for very close range work surely. That rocket will drop quite a bit in that first 30ft after leaving the barrel. OK the rocket then kicks in, to a missile heading groundward alas. If not ideal for military use and not great in the jungle, is that why we do not hear of them today?

I think that they were just part of the usual hype campaign for the latest "Wonder Weapon" (nothing wrong with that).It likely had some redeeming characteristics but failed in practice for whatever reasons. I vaguely remember that I didn't buy one because the ammo was too expensive and would likely disappear when the company crapped out…

Laim i believe it was fired close in once in Nam and the rocket just rolled out of the barrel !! another time though as you say it was fired from a distance in an ambush and proved very effective.

As Cloudy says the Ammo was way too expensive..and the weapon proved too haphazard in handling, i read a New York gun seller was approached by a Soviet agent attempting to buy the New wonder weapon,,he would not sell it to him..just sold him ammo..not sure why!!

Certainly Tiger Tanaka's Ninjas used them to good effect inside Blomfeldt's volcano in Y O L Twice. Never heard of them since.

Now this one strikes me as an exceptionally nicely painted figure and a decent sized image to show you too.

A complex pose that must have been murder to cast. Is he a one piece effort, or is there some assembly?

Now here is one sent to me by Ged today.

This might almost be the best yet for modelling, painting and (for me) the quality of photography. Remember he is 28mm and you are seeing him on a PC monitor at about 90mm approx….and he still looks amazing.

This gent is loading his Grease gun (which was very much still in use in VN).

Gringos40 used to do Napoleonics and so many other eras but VN has turned out to be the raison d'etre lately.
