Just finished updating my blog with some Napoleonic era Bavarian artillery by Franznap in 1/72 scale. While I wouldn't recommend it as a way to get in some additional painting time, having heart surgery does have a nice recovery window where the the ease and relaxation of painting is just the ticket. I'm three and a half weeks post open heart surgery now, and just so grateful for the great results and the time to spend with family, now and for many many years to come in the future! Hopefully now I will live long enough to finish painting all of the Napoleonic figures I have planned for the collection!

Congratulations on a successful recovery. I hope the painting gives you much enjoyment and serenity.

Thanks ccmatty! There is a meditative quality to painting that I find most healing. Not to mention I just love the process!

Frederick, I have no choice. The French Imperial Guard is calling!

Beautifully done. I wish you many more years of good health and good painting, and you are right about painting being very meditative.

Cavcrazy,

I kid you not, there was on day after surgery that my heart went into aflutter for 12 hours or more. Sitting down and painting is so meditative and relaxing for me, that after about an hour my heart dropped back into normal rhythm, and has been there ever since!

The guy reading the map is great.

I really dig the map. What did you use for the lines?
