Continuing the self control with buying made easier with shipping costs, vendors moving and me wanting things from companies who do things the old fashioned way.

As well as the figures I painted 1 longhouse and 3 wigwams from Acheson Creations.

Last months thread, TMP link

Not a particularly good month, because I spent a lot of time doing my income tax. Yep, I'm going to do like others and blame the government for my problems and inadequacies!

Anyway, I bought 16 man-sized figures and two larger figures, and painted eight figures. Three Pathans, four fantasy figures, and a Viking.

Cleaning figures to paint in May, I managed to snap one 28 mm figure in two at the ankles. Normally, this would be a drill and pin project, but the ankles are so small I'm not at all certain that is feasible with this figure. Pity too, I liked that figure!

Another pretty good month.

I slogged through the two 'flaky' battalions of French infantry but got bored half way through and spruced up and based the Guard Chasseurs. Eventually got back to the infantry and finished them.

Meanwhile I bought some unpainted 15mm ECW figures, pike that I needed to finish off a unit, a small storming party and enough foot to make an understrength unit.

So,
Bought unpainted: 38 ECW 15mm
(re)Painted & Based:
Chasseurs a Cheval de la Garde Imperiale 20
1/93me Ligne 24
2/93me Ligne 24

Finished 68 minus bought 38 = +30
MTD: +30
YTD: +573

Quite healthy really.

In May the two Baden battalions are next up, these are 2 Bn of helmeted Austrian infantry I'm planning to paint convert. I thought these were going to be a quick and simple repaint of white coats to blue coats and a little redo of helmets, but no, flaky again :-{ . Should have remembered I bought these in the same batch as the flaky French aargh! If I finish these then there are a handful of French infantry that need painting to finish off a couple of nicely painted battalions, and I should really do a few Generals de Bde. That should be the end pf the French for now, and on to the Poles.

Not a bad month, considering I had a birthday. Got figures for it, which accounts for the figures I bought. April was the month of Portuguese, thought I was finishing them btu discovered I still need to paint 1 more regiment.

Monthly totals were
Bought= 158
Painted= 233
Total = + 75

for the year
Bought=354
Painted=605
Total= 251
So still ahead. The next couple months are going to be Prussians. Got 3-4 line/reserve regiments and 2-3 landwehr to paint

Grelber, have you thought of using epoxy. I did that to fix an Eagle Knight who snapped off at the ankle a couple of years ago. He has been in combat a number of times and is holding up.

I get the general idea, but is there a post somewhere that puts up the rules for "the pledge"?

I'm thinking of joining ya'll on the wagon.

Wait, we aren't talking about drinking???

Stalkey and Co,

There really aren't any set rules. Each member as a slightly different interpretation of the program.

For myself it's more about reducing the lead pile and painting the new things I've bought. I count each model as one figure regardless of scale or size, Infantry is the same as cavalry or a tank ect. The monthly posting sets a short term goal and helps keep me on track to a degree. I've tracked my painting and purchases since 2015 and on average I've painted about 30 more figures than bought.
