I would have gone with Cuba. North Korea is more of a cult. |

Isn't North Korea the only communist country? I went to Cuba while Castro was still in charge and it was the most un-communist communist country I've ever been to (compared to the old Warpac countries, never made it to the USSR). China is just authoritarian capitalism now, and very successful with it, like Vietnam. |

North Korea is cult of personality of Un and his forefathers. They are tyrants, dictators, power hungry gangsters, using Communism as a basis. For their corruption, crimes, etc. With 40% of their population starving, living in squaller, dying in a variety of ways including illness/disease, etc. Plus Un like his daddy and granddaddy are running concentration camps rivaling the Nazis, China and WWII Russia. He will never allow reunification with the South unless he is the fearless leader of all of Korea. |

Cuba is pretty much there too, and Venezuela should get honorable mention as well, in addition to NK. |

Cuba is probably the only really Communist country on that list. NK is definitely some weird hybrid having taken the cult of personality to its extreme and the CCP has adopted Nationalism as some kind of 'moral' patch for having ditched some pretty key tenants of Communism (a few to many parallels with Putin's Russia for comfort). I think Venezuela counts as authoritarian socialist. AFAIK they not gone the full Marx? |
