Folks, I would really appreciate some input on how to paint the Hudson & Allen Alamo. If I used a spray can of Krylon primer as a base coat, will it damage the model? I don't want to discover it has melted into a pile of goo. In the same way, is a spray Krylon matte finish going to react negatively to the model at the end of the process. I have many years of painting experience but I have never used this type of product before. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. The Normal Guy Tom Wirsing |

Got this: Polyurethane foam is frequently used as a modelling material by hobbyists and wargaming enthusiasts, as well as in a wide variety of other applications such as furniture cushions and insulation. Polyurethane foam should only be painted with spray paint if it is of the closed-cell type. Open-cell polyurethane foams tend to melt when subjected to aerosols. From here: link |

Well, you can always test on one of the small pieces, or inside one of the houses. But I do not believe either the primer or the sealer will harm it. |

I have the Hudson and Allen Alamo and used spray paint on it with no issues. I got mine back when it was first released. Thanks John |

Yep I used Walmart spray paint to prime mine, no issues. Holds true for all of the Hudson Allen buildings |

I have painted their medieval fortified farmhouse, castle keep, and several of their log cabins and sprayed all of them with Testors flat black as base. Several are a decade old and no problem. |
