Finally, after a bit of a delay, I have posted a gallery of photos from this year's convention of the Seven Years War Association, held in South Bend, Indiana from March 31st through April 2nd. Games from across the 18th century, vendors, seminars, good friends, fine whiskey and cigars on the patio . . . it doesn't really get any better.

A convention I always wanted to go to but probably won't get the chance. At least for a while….

Great photos and thanks for sharing – this is a convention I would love to attend! Likely a retirement goal

Jorge:

Indeed, when I bring a game to the SYWcon (which I normally do, but did not this year) I always feel obligated to put forth my very best effort, or risk disappointing the Association members who, as you can tell from the photos, are accustomed to a very high aesthetic standard. I assume the other gamemasters are motivated by much the same sentiment.

I have attended dozens of conventions over the last few decades, from the Mississippi valley to the East Coast, and this one invariably has the games that, on average, impress me the most. No contest. Those of you that haven't managed to make it to this event are missing something special.

Thanks for posting. Did I see Todd Kerschner of Warfare in the Age of Reason fame in one of the photos?

You did. He invariably runs a couple games at this con, along with a few other more-or-less-well-known game designers.
