Very useful collection. It's interesting that the gun carriage is French style but painted grey. |

There is some debate about the colour of Dutch artillery equipment in the 100 Days. Most was from the Gribeauval system obtained from the French and therefore, initially at least the standard green colour. By 1818 (I think it was) the grey colour similar to the British had been adopted. The 100 Days was at the start of the transition period so nothing is currently certain. For my own part, I paint my Dutch equipment for the campaign French artillery green as though there were more important things to do than decide a new colour scheme. |
