I attampted to adapt the Pony Wars rules over to a Zulu game. Have a look here for a detailed, sort of, battle report. Thanks for having a look.

Eric there does exist a set of rules for the Sudan, The Sand sof The Sudan, that were based on Pony Wars and created by Peter Gilder to use at his Holiday Wargame center.

As Paul noted, Gilder lifted the Pony Wars approach for his Sudan game that was then revised and fleshed out as Sands of the Sudan. Carlo did a great job of this and I could imagine a Zulu war version would be very easy to develop -- probably easier than starting with Pony Wars itself.
