Hello everyone: When did the Powhatan get firearms, the first, second or third war with the English colonists.

They were Mostly gifts to leaders and pretty thin on the ground. I give Powhatan era natives a negative to shoot since they were status symbols and very new. By King Philips war the Narragansetts were quite good. A challenge for the early era natives was their reliance on European gunpowder and there was not yet the use of the natives in proxy wars

King Philips war is a next upcoming project. I guess I'll stick with Bows and warclubs. Jon how have you been? If your still local we have a Wargaming group on Facebook.

Almost no firearms that I am aware of. There were also some stolen/captured pieces out there, but in limited number.

The colonists had steel-tipped arrows (as items to be used for trade) but decided leave them back in England. A good idea, since they were a lot better than what the natives used, and would have been deadlier than muskets…
