I am looking for more uniform details on two units
Vehlen Dragoons and Hatzfeld Horse both at the battle of Cassano in 1705

Coat colour should be grey but does anyone have any more knowledge on facing colours, hat lace, saddle cloth colours etc.

Thanks

Steve

"Material on the War of the Spanish Succession The Armies of the Palatinate and Cologne" August KuHn 1988 Edition Browaw.

There no uniform details for Hatzfeld, but does list it as a dragoon regiment in a list of unit strengths p.17

p.9
"Wagner show musicians in reverersed colours for Palatine mounted troops. The shabraue is typically in the coat colours bordered in cuff colour."
p.10
Vehlen Dragoons:
Coat Cuffs Vest Buttons Pants/O'coat/shabr
Yellow Red Red Copper Leather/Yellow/Red with yellow border and Electorial arms. Musician yellow coat with red Lace.

There is also a schematic illustration of several cavalry/dragoon regiments showing that this unit had Electorial arms on the pistol cover and corner of the saddle cloth.

I hope that helps

I would highly recommend getting the CD for the Palalinate by R Hall. I'm probably breaking some rules but here are a couple of pics from that CD.

You can get some flag information as well as where the units saw action. Very very good information overall so again I highly recommend getting that CD along with any of the others that are available for this period. In the States you can check OMM.
